Free Smile Checks for Kids This February – Because Every Smile Starts with Early Care

As your NYC orthodontist who truly believes that every smile tells its own unique story, I get so excited about February every year. Why? Because it’s National Children’s Dental Health Month – a whole month dedicated to helping our little ones build the foundation for lifelong healthy, confident smiles.

Over the years, I’ve seen firsthand how powerful early intervention can be. The American Dental Association (and the American Association of Orthodontists) recommends that children have their first orthodontic evaluation by age 7. At this stage, I can spot hard-to-notice issues like crowding, bite problems, jaw growth concerns, or habits that might affect development – often before they become bigger (and more complex) challenges later on.

That’s why I’m so passionate about offering complimentary early orthodontic evaluations – what I like to call “Smile Checks” for Kids – especially during February.

Here’s what this means for you and your child:

• A gentle, no-pressure visit where I personally examine their teeth, jaw, and bite.
• Time to discuss any concerns you have as a parent – whether it’s about airway, sleep trouble, speech, spacing, thumb-sucking, early crowding, or just wanting to make sure everything is on track.

If treatment isn’t needed yet, you’ll leave with peace of mind and simple tips to keep their smile growing strong. If I do spot something that could benefit from early interceptive treatment (like a simple habit breaker or expander), we can start planning right away to make things easier and more effective down the road.

I frame this offer as “Catch Problems Early – Make a straight path to Healthy Smiles” because that’s exactly what we’re doing: preventing small issues from turning into bigger ones, while helping kids feel excited about their smiles instead of worried.
